Case sticks

by Lambdafarm on October 7, 2010

When building a box, it is important to make sure it is square.  The only real way to do that is to take a measurement from the inside corner of one side of the box to the opposite corner, then compare that measurement to the opposite diagonal.  They should be identical if the box is square.  If not, you have a problem.  These sticks slide apart, then lock at the correct measurement.  You measure one diagonal, lock the sticks at that length, then measure the other diagonal.  If all is well, they match perfectly, if not, you madly fix the joint before trying again.
