Proto Purple Martin House

by Lambdafarm on January 8, 2011

Ever get started on something only to find it was a lot more complicated than you expected?  A purple martin house is like that.  The first day I just about got the plans drawn and the plywood sliced when it got dark.  I will post a picture of the house I dubbed “Moby Dick” next time.

Are you basing the martin house design off of an existing martin house plan or playing it by ear?

I am using the birdhouse plans the Northern Prairie Research Center has on the web. I have built several of their houses and they work pretty well. The bat houses are nice, too.
